Doug and Chris Parker first met in the 1960s when they attended Highland Elementary School in Grove City. They both graduated in 1977 from GCHS and did not pass ways again until the summer of 2018 when Chris moved back to Grove City.

Doug went to Grove City College and majored in Business. He first worked for Palmer Smith and then he worked a few years for Reznor in Mercer. Around 2000 he took a job with Bashlin Industries in Grove City and was in the Sales Department. He was the Sales Manager/Vice President at Bashlin from 2018 until he retired in January 2023. While in sales, Doug traveled extensively in the US and visited all 50 states while working. It was a very rewarding career and he met hundreds of people in the industry along the way.

Chris went to Clarion University and became an entrepreneur at the age of 24. Her first business was a video rental store in Saegertown, which she ran from 1984 until 1998 when she created JC Celebrity Bears. They were little Teddy Bears designed after famous celebrities and sold nationwide and internationally. She opened her first Subway in 2006 and after selling the JC Bears company she opened 3 more Subway restaurants in Crawford County until she officially retired in 2020.

After reconnecting, Chris and Doug got married in 2021. After Doug retired they thought it would be fun to open an ice cream and hot dog shop. We hope you enjoy Parker’s Parlor as much as they do.
